X-Scale...the truth is out there

Wednesday 5th June 2002
Posted By: Barny
It seems that PDA manufacturers are so keen to to get a share of the growth in the hand-held market, they are releasing all sorts of news stories and pictures on their products before they have got anything to ship. Rather like edging over the start line to get an advantage. Here are some of the rumours:
1. The new X-scale eats up too much power - release delayed
2. The new X-scale is no quicker than the Strong-ARM - release delayed
3. Microsoft PocketPC (2000&2002) O/S is not optimised for the X-scale - release delayed, etc. etc.
There seems to be a lot of hype and pictures, but not a lot of releases - when this changes we'll let you know. If anyone has an inside track please let us know news

WANTED: Singer to accompany Pocket PC (no talent required!)

Tuesday 30th April 2002
Posted By: Barny
The latest release of Griff™ Pocket Music Studio now lets you record, edit and playback sounds on your pocket PC.

Try this: Sing something awful directly into your Pocket PC, add a bit of reverb for effect, stick a tune in behind it and you have a CD Quality, number 1 single written entirely on your pocket PC. And if you are not entirely happy with your band, the Griff™ sampler allows you to import "that new sound" in the form of a *WAV file.

Sounds good? Well only as good as the composer. However, with it’s intuitive interface design, Griff™ Pocket Music Studio unleashes the musical genius in everyone. It is a music revolution! (What is more, the upgrade is free to existing Griff™ users and at no extra cost to new customers).

Griff goes indie

Wednesday 3rd April 2002

Griff has finally made it in the alternative music world. New Musical Express (NME) published a glowing review of Griff in the 30th March edition, right next to Holly's demo Hell. They said: "This isn't some cheap, tinny sounding toy; you can get some deeply satisfying results using Griff" and concluded: "This is top-class entertainment on the go". Way to go Griff.

Thanks to Jonathan Wilson at NME.

This was the competition to win a copy of Griff - Robert was picked randomly out of group of people who had e-mailed the website answering the question "how you might use Griff and your Pocket PC together". Some excellent responses came up click here to see some of them.

Congratulations Robert from PlanetGriff.
